Hi all,
I have been using KMyMoney for some time now (2 years) KMyMoney 1.0.3 (using KDE 3.5.10-21.fc11 Fedora) I have two (2) .kmy files. One for my personal accounting, and one for my shared business accounting with a business partner. Problem started this week. One of my bank accounts in my personal accounting file has decided to change its name ... all by itself ... to a name I use in the business accounting file. I have tried using "Edit Account" to change its name back to what it should be and it does ... till I try to re-save the file. It just reverts back to the wrong name. It won't let me change it back. What has happened ? How can I fix this ?? Thanks for any help Cheers Robyn |

My memory is that the original version of KMyMoney had a separate settings file which held various information relating to KMyMoney; if so you can try and edit that and see if that will solve the problem. However, if both accoounts are in the same user, I think these problems may be inevitable as KMyMoney was designed for personal, not business, accounts and therefore for only one 'user.'
I have separate users for my personal data and for my business data and you may solve the problem by having the different accounts under different users.

Thanks John, I'll try that. However I have been using the 2 files successfully for the past 2 years. Why it should suddenly start to play up now I have no idea.
When I went to File > Personal Data though I did discover that both files were in my name so I've changed that. I haven't changed the address, phone numbers or email address though, just the name, so we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the idea. Cheers Robyn |

Same here: I am using two separate .kmy files under the same user; I sometimes even have them open at the same time in two KMM instances. Never seen any problems.
