Hi, all. I have returned from a visit abroad and am looking to input my receipts into kmymoney and will need to backdate them to maintain accuracy. However, I am now unable to modify the creation date of categories (the field shows today and is greyed out) which I believe would cause difficulties putting in transactions that occurred prior to today. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

edit: This occurred in the previous stable version as well as 4.6 on Ubuntu.

This is not something you should worry about, categories are used to group transactions but NOT date them.

The important date is the transaction date which you enter when you add a transaction in the ledger - the creation date of a category is unrelated.

However KMyMoney will prevent you from entering a transaction into an account which is dated earlier than the account opening date.
