Hello,
have switched to W-7 PC and taking opportunity of the new release of KMM, I have tried to install it directly on windows (and not on a virtual Ubuntu machine as I used to do before... So far, so good... It works pretty fine. The only thing I have not really succeeded to do yet are only a few: - for some reason, there are some investments that I can't edit. I double click on it, or on the "edit" button, but nothing pops up. Others can be edited fine.. I don't know where this comes from. Any idea? - I can't update the prices of stocks and invest online. Normally, being based in France, I use quote from Bourso. When I ask for update, I have the message : "Executing c:/program files/kde4/share/apps/kmymoney/misc/financequote.pl bourso FR0010816413... Unable to launch: c:/program files/kde4/share/apps/kmymoney/misc/financequote.pl Unable to update price for FR0010816413 (empty quote data)" How can I install or find the proper file for this? Thanks in advance, Vincent |

This usually means that some condition for editing is not met (or it's a bug ![]()
Finance::quote was not tested on Windows I'll have a look what needs to be done to make it work.

Ok, thanks for taking some time for that...
I'll try to find the common feature between the stocks that I can edit and those I can... If I see a trend... Also, once in a while, I have a kioslave error... I close the window and it seems it keeps working ok... Till next time, thanks, |

I know about that it's a DBus related Qt bug on Windows which will go away when the version in which it was fixed will be used by the KDE on Windows team. But it should not affect the functionality since the KIO slave crashes in it's shutdown routine so after it's job it's done. It's just an annoyance.

Hello,
just a quick note to ask if you have any insight about the finance:quote for windows version? Unfortunately, my ubuntu virtual machine is corrupted, so I am left with only the windows version currently. So before re-setting a full ubuntu VM, I check with you if I need this, or if I can just wait and remain with the Windows set-up... Thanks again, VdL |

I've had a glimpse at it. The first issue is that you'll need a perl installation with the Finance::Quote module. I don't know if KDE on Windows can package that. After I've completed this step with cpan + manually copying some files in the right place it still does not work. It does from command line but the QProcess we use to call it from the application just goes on running without supplying any data on the output so there is a problem somewhere that needs more debugging so in conclusion if you need Finace::Quote you'll have to stick to your Ubuntu VM for the time being.

Hi vdl,
I am afraid bourso.pl is broken again, independently of your Finance::Quote problems. I emailed the person in charge but did not get any reply. I think they remapped the stock symbols, and I don't know if it is possible to fix the script this time. For instance, your example FR0010816413 maps to http://www.boursorama.com/bourse/opcvm/ ... =MP-605711. |

I've finally managed to get Finance::Quote working on Windows. You'll need: 1. Perl installed and in path 2. Finance::Quote perl module installed (using cpan) 3. Before editing a security to set it's source to Finance::Quote make sure to open the price update dialog (this is a bug that has been fixed) or else it will not work P.S: to test your perl/Finance::Quote installation run this

Hello Christian,
this is wonderful, I got it to work... I couldn't dream of it. I just found this topic again, as I decided today to kill this issue, and I managed to install all you said and to run your test. It is all fine. The only issue left now is that bourso seems to be out, so I will have to re-encoded most of the stocks with the proper convention of the proper quote provider. For french source code (like FR0XXXXX) which one would you recommend? I could see it worked because it updated properly the currency from yahoo... So thanks a lot for your help... VdL |
