OFX and UTF-8 problem

Mon Jan 16, 2012 11:37 am
I'm starting with KMyMoney - I'm playing with KMy 4.6.1 on Windows 7 (64bit) or Ubuntu 11.10 (32bit). I have bank statement from in OFX (version 2, valid XML) with natinal characters (descriptions, names...). OFX is properly encoded in UTF-8.

But no way to get this into KmyMoney. Characters are broken.

I have tried to convert it into QIF (UTF-8), into QFX or change encoding in OFX to my language one-byte code page Windows cp1250 (convert file and change in XML header). But still no way. I have tried to save data into MySQL database (with proper UTF-8 data encoding) or into KMyMoney file. No differences. I have tried to import OFX using standard OFX import plugin and with AqBank import too, but with similar result.

Can anybody help me - how to import statement with natinal characters into KMyMoney? Thanks in advance!

Could you send a simple OFX test file (with one example transaction that you can't import properly) to the developer mailing list so we can help you with this?
