KMM Colours Customisation.

Sat Feb 18, 2012 1:55 am
Hello

This enquiry is relatively trivial, dealing with aesthetics not function of KMM. I have wondered for a while now how i can customise the various colours used for different elements of the KMM screens. I have played several times with the Colours tab in the Customise KMM dialogue, but it doesn't seem to give me sufficient granularity of control... eg, i'd like to change the [apparently] default light-blue tone used for whichever entry is currently highlighted, to another colour of my choice. Also, I know how to change the font colour of entries with negative values, but what about other font colours [eg, what if tomorrow i feel like making all the non-negative text in my database purple instead of default black]? Is this possible within the current options? If not, would this be a relatively easy enhancement to include in a future version pls [i'm currently using KMM v4.6.2, KDE 4.8.0, Win7 64-bit]?

Finally, as per some of my previous Posts too,... congrats once more to the Developers ... KMM is wonderful :-)

Steffie.

Still surprised to see Windows users happily running our application.

About those settings, they are handled by the default KDE colors. I know it doesn't make much sense to you, but if you open KDE Systemsettings and change the color theme there, the colors in KMM will/should change accordingly.

I'm not a Windows user. It's probably available to install from the KDE installer.

Thanks anyway Hei Ku

I've looked at all entries in KDE for Windows Installer 0.9.9-5, at the http://www.winkde.org site [from where i get my KMM upgrades]. I can't see anything that looks like it might be a System Settings utility.

To any other KDE users [who also use Windows] --- can anyone pls guide me here?

Thanks. Steffie.

You need to install the 'kde-workspace' package for that. After installing the package you'll have a checkmark on the last page of the installer that reads something like 'Run system settings after exit'. Or, after exiting the installer, you can run it from the start menu.

You shouldn't be anymore, really. There where a lot of platform and application improvements since we first managed to compile KMyMoney on Windows. I really believe that it is now production ready (at least with the file storage) on Windows.

The KBanking plugin (needed to use it with HBCI) is also going to be packaged in the near future. I've managed to do that locally and sent some patches to the KDE on Windows team and they are processing the patch for inclusion in the packaging system.

You need to install the 'kde-workspace' package

Thanks Cristian, i've done that now, so now i've learnt a little bit more about managing KMM :) Steffie.
