I'm using kde4.8.2 on Mageia 2.
I wanted to change the login theme. I went to the theme tab and selected a couple of new themes via the 'Get New Themes' tab. But they do not show up in the list of themes in the themes window. When I click 'Install new themes" I get an entry dialog with no indication as to where the downloaded themes have been saved. Is something missing here? |

Then try to change the theme from root:
or, maybe, in your distribution,
Since login themes need to be installed by root, user's «Get New Themes» doesn't affect anything. I don't know why is this tab shown to a non-root user: AFAIK, it doesn't work and can't work. |

Thanks for that. I can now get downloads to appear in the themes window but to install one of them, I need to know where they are located! It beggars belief that it isn't intuitive.
Oh! I found it at: /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes. Thanks for you help. |
