Hi,
I upgraded my Kubuntu 12.04 to KDE Plasma and Applications 4.9. It is one of the best KDE i have ever seen. I have not seen any bug yet and its performance is better that past. Congratulation to KDE team for this fantastic release. have a nice time. |

I installed 4.9 from PPA on Kubuntu 12.04 a couple of days ago because 4.8.4 had a number of bugs I found no solution for. However, Konqueror consistently crashed when I clicked anything in Configure Konqueror and Akonadi crashed when I tried to play web radio. I'm testing 4.8.4. on Debian 7 now.

Upgrades from PPA's must be done carefully - it seems that you had some issues here. I can however report that the crashes you report do not occur under KDE Trunk (nor have they ever happened to my knowledge).

4.8.4 was great, it proved to be a very well behaved citizen and I was really comfortable with it. But I have to admit that I do like 4.9 better. Between all the hard work Linus, Con Kolivas, the KDE devs and the guys at X.org have been doing I couldn't be happier with Linux.
The 4.4.x period was a little trying but since 4.5.x, it's like you guys keep turning the awesome dial up with every release. Thank you! Edit: I forgot to mention the Arch devs, they kick ****! |

I followed the instructions on http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-sc-4.9. Not that there are no packages for KDE 4.9 in the official repositories for Kubuntu or Debian. If KDE 4.9.1 is available for Kubuntu or Debian I may try to reproduce the bugs I observed. |
