It's strange, but KDE is not active enough on Google+. At least i cant find official page that provides interesting news and features about KDE.
G+ is great platform for following Linux related topics and news. Not sure about other social networks (I'm not a member of any other).
Other DEs are widely present (on their own sites or trough various distributions sites).

Yes! Name is odd... and not so obvious. But that is not too important.
Contents should be added more frequently though.
