Remote controll for KDE as RDP

Sun Nov 02, 2014 9:52 pm
Hi :)
For Linux exist VNC, and i used it for remote controll my X-capable system (KDE).
But VNC send full screen jpeg (moved zones).
But in MS Windows have RDP protocol, which send only coordinates and properties of window.
In client of RDP recive this information and drow window and actions (this approach use very low link speed)

For KDE, not yet created analog RDP ?
For approach still recommendation use VNC?

Hello,

This is how Xorg was meant to work back in the eighties : it can send to a remote client requests like "draw a line there". However, I don't think modern toolkits like Qt make use of these capabilities. OpenGL applications like Plasma or Firefox can't even work this way efficiently.

So, we could do this 20-30 years ago, but it's not possible anymore. And things won't improve with Wayland.
