I'm here because of the Destination Linux (podcast) interview with Jonathan Riddell

Several issues I had with kubuntu seem to be gone already. I'm sure the issues I had were my own fault (except for Discover cough cough) but so far KDEneon is soooooo much better. (For instance, my plugable bluetooth dongle works.)

Well its great to see others discovering Neon...
I'm a fairly new user in the KDE space but after years and years of distro interventions, I feel that urge has finally dissipated and that I've arrived in Linux land!
As far as directing you somewhere... let's start with Latte dock
I was pleasantly surprised as it turned out to be a really nice alternative to panels.

And I've just installed ksmoothdock.

But hey, it does the job for me as I have my "proper" panel permanently visible on the left hand side (with wide screen monitors these days no problem).

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:rikmills/latte-dock

EDIT: yes... Neon does now have that in its repo!

No worries!
I cut my teeth on HP UNIX and while add-apt wasn't in that world... I am comfortable with bash
Installed ksmoothdock and it'll be a real contender if system tray and taskbar are ever added to the mix
However I totally get dangvd's context... it's a very elegant and lightweight solution!
For now I'll stick with a single dock loaded with whatever widgets...
