Hey all
I have spent about a week or 2 now posting quite heavily on the Ubuntu community boards, and have just reached a point where I don't know how well I fit in over there... The thing is, I have been using Linux OSs for quite a long time now over a variety of distributions and GUIs, and am now at a point where I guess I feel quite progressive over what should be done to further things along I think that we need to keep moving on, we need better desktops and better effects, eye-catching eye-candy and great, up-to-date features, you know? I don't think we should sit in the past with Gnome 2/GTK 2, or not implement fancy new features just because we might not like the OS that came up with them first (such as Jump Lists in Windows 7). So yeah, here I am! I am hoping that in the community of a DE as progressive and up-to-date as KDE, I might find that more people are like me ^_^ And man you get tired of making threads saying "Wouldn't it be nice if we had this feature/piece of eye-candy..." only to be attacked for about 20 posts!! lol So yeah, hello to everyone and I'm pleased to be here, I hope to contribute as much as I can to KDE in the future! ^_^ Hoppi!

Feel free to make suggestions on the appropriate board. With KDE 4 being as flexible as it is, there's a lot of potential for adding new features
On that note, though, it would be nice to lay off Plasma/KWin a bit and start improving Akonadi and Nepomuk more... I know they're less in-your-face, but if these were improved the user experience would be on an entire new level.

Welcome to the KDE Community Forums!
Heh, not really. We host KDE Brainstorm as well. So we definitely welcome such topics, as long as they include a good suggestion |

It seems that NEPOMUK article I wrote had a bit of an effect
Welcome aboard the good ship Lollypop! *confused look* *looks for name on the side of the boat* *can't find name* *can't find boat, as it happens...* Hehehe. Welcome aboard anyway. and don't touch a cookie, they're mine! *grabs cookies and runs away from admins* Oooh, you'll find many ideas here, many quite inspiring. Inspiring to the point where you either; 1. Start coding it yourself 2. Beat the developers over the head with a wet fish. I prefer number 2, myself... I'm Dan, by the way; and if you haven't noticed, I'm the forum madman

oo sorry I didn't reply again sooner, and thanks for all the messages!
I was checking out KDE Brainstorm and it looks great! Thing is I was quite hooked on Ubuntu Brainstorm before but because of a combination of them really being more swayed towards Gnome at the moment and because I believe KDE is an even greater reason to choose Linux on the desktop than Ubuntu, I dunno I think I might start contributing over here instead now! I'll also look into other ways I can contribute ^_^ Thanks again all of you, and your post made me laugh Dan lol See you round doods! Hoppi

woo that's awesome - cool to see you here man KDE is amazing And I actually post on both now, there is something quite nice about the Ubuntu forums but you need to just, roll with it on the "My DE is better than yours" arguments that break out sometimes between Gnome and KDE users! They don't really bother me anymore, everyone has their favourites after all!
