Exciting library, few feature requests

Hi,

I saw a post about Eigen on the OONumerics list, and from my initial browsing it seems pretty ace. I have two (related) feature requests which would make it even more useful for my purposes though:

* Non-linear least squares (Either Levenberg-Marquardt or the newish Tensor method)
* Non-linear root solving (Again, L-M = "dogleg step" or Tensor based)

These are both matrix heavy processes which could benefit from having template based libraries, and given the inclusion of linear least squares would be a natural fit to your library. (The former is included in the Little Template Library, but despite being open source that has a rather closed development style.)

Arf, we were planning to wait for our 2.1 release to announce ourselves on OONumerics. Well it's OK.

About L-M, at least 2 devs have been talking about coding it, I don't know what's the status though but yes it's probably going to happen. If you're interested in potentially doing it yourself and want to avoid duplication of effort, write to the list first.

No need to convince us that that would be a nice addition to Eigen, we already agree on that :)

Join us on Eigen's IRC channel: #eigen on irc.freenode.net
Have a serious interest in Eigen? Then join the mailing list!

Probably don't have time to work on it myself at the moment, but I'll let you know on the list if I get desperate and start.

I'm glad you agree it'd be a nice addition, and thanks in advance to whichever devs get the time to make it.
