I have made some survey which may interest you, comparing performance of Eigen vs. it++ on 11 matrix factorization algorithms. The results are here: http://bickson.blogspot.com/2011/10/it- ... sults.html Best, Danny Bickson |

Thanks for your feedback. Which BLAS/Lapack library did you use? The performance of IT++ highly depends on that. BTW, I added a link to your blog entry in our wiki, section "Articles". |

ggael, perhaps this fits into the current topic and/or the Articles section on the wiki: I was wondering, what are your thoughts on this -- http://arxiv.org/abs/1109.1264 -- is it possible to incorporate some of the ideas in Eigen and get the best of both worlds?

yes I've already seen this paper and having "meta packets" grouping multiple real packets for efficient partial unrolling is something I wanted to do in Eigen a long time ago. What is easy to do on a small scale prototype becomes more complicated at the scale of Eigen. Besides, some benchmarks of this paper sounds very strange....

Interesting, thanks for the answer! So, I guess we're going to have to wait a little bit for salted Eigen... |
