No problems. For reference, can you tell me the version of your NVIDIA driver?

hmmm it's weird but I get this error when I try to compile subtitlecomposer:

[ 0%] Generating subtitlecomposer.gmo
/bin/sh: GETTEXT_MSGFMT_EXECUTABLE-NOTFOUND: command not found
make[2]: *** [po/el/subtitlecomposer.gmo] Error 127
make[1]: *** [po/el/CMakeFiles/pofiles.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

I haven't seen this kind of error before! =S

It is a bug in the script, which can be resolved by installing the gettext executable on your system.

IMPORTANT: Change tags!

Fri Jan 09, 2009 7:01 pm
Speaking with the kde-promo guys, I was asked if you could tag the videos with "kde42" instead of "kde4.2". To everyone who has uploaded to blip.tv already, please change the tag ASAP.

It should be done, but it still dosen't find them...
Maybe it takes a bit of time to update...

Same for mine. I've updated the tags.

For the moment, i don't have the time to create a nodeless version.
Maybe I will do one in the next months ... but don't count on me ;)

Well, reactions on the KDE-promo ML have been quite positive. Good work, people!

Unless you have further additions, I think I will close the Kourse 2 thread this evening (GMT+1). I can say I'm very satisfied by how things turned out, with three high-quality screencast produced and a nice experience for the things to come. I have more ideas for screencasts, so watch this space!

Oh wait, I'm working on the subtitled version, what should I do after I finished it?

Put it on blip.tv as well. I won't close this thread until you are done (that means even waiting a few days), so no hurry.

I try to open the video and I get:
There was an error opening this file: $file_I_tried_to_open.ogv[hr]
and it doesn't give any output!

The encoded version? Can you try posting some output from mencoder while it encodes?

I'm trying to make the subtitles with subtitlecomposer and then re-encode the video with mencoder. But the subtitlecomposer can't open the .ogv file created by recordmydesktop!

Strange, I was able to open it just fine here. You need to change backend of subtitlecomposer perhaps. By default it's gstreamer. Go in the options and pick mplayer or xine, it should work.
