Congratulations to all the KDE team, I was waiting for this release for years =)
Now there is no desktop system so advanced as KDE 4.2, I was using kdemod 4.2RC in my arch linux box and liked it so much, now I will update it to the final version when I get home. Many thanks from Brazil for all of you! P.S. - Now I am certain Linus will come back soon =D João Dalvi |

Hi all at KDE, seems that I am one of the first ones....
CONGRATULATIONS, I deeply admire what you have done so far, and are you going to excel further. Ok, well this part was fun: Now look under http://www.uopeople.com (there will be opening the world's first completely "Open" University with no costs besides exams. Help those people young men/woman from third world countries with your vision. Many many thanks, Hoping that all concepts (eg Nepomuk/Soprano) are going to blossom more than ever. And by the way I would need KDE4.2 on a 1000H Netbook from Asus....:shade: Yours sincerely, Andreas P (http://www.kyeldon.net/drupal6.2/) ps: Many thanks for changing your captcha |

I still use 3.5.10 as it fits my needs, just tested a bit 4 and 4.1 but they remember me the difference between "need" and "nice" to have.
It should have been named KDE 4.0 and all previous releases "beta" or "RC" in my opinion. Good think 4.2 arrives, and thanks for this huge job, I hope this is a finalized product I will be able to work with. |

Congratulations for releasing KDE 4.2.
While I usually don't like superlatives, as an avid user of development versions I can wholeheartedly say, that KDE 4.2 is the best KDE release yet and that the quality and polish of this release has shown for quite some time. Thank you all for your time, effort and determination. @podcastoro: You can read the details here. |

Congratulations!
With 4.2, I feel it's time for me to jump on the KDE4 train. This release already seems like a fantastic stop; where will you take me next?

Congrats to the KDE4 team. Using it on openSUSE 11.0 x64
Food for thought... - Icons in the System Tray constantly change the black background color of the tray itself. See pic below, notice the different colors behind the icons - Konversation not yet ported to KDE4 - KMail does not clean its trash bin even if the option is checked in the configuration - Konqueror (which I use as file manager (dislike Dolphin)) forgets the "use common view properties for all folders" option and automatically reverts to the "remember view properties for each folder" option instead - In konqueror, the option View -> Preview increases icon size (Is this supposed to be that way? if so, it's very annoying) - KWrite does not respect the Tab width of 8 characters. comparing KWrite4 to KWrite3 (kde 3.5.x), the latter uses Tab space accordingly - Changing desktop theme in Desktop Settings makes panels grow in their size so I'll have to adjust them each time I change the desktop theme. I know one can lock them but constantly locking/unlocking is annoying I know this is not the place to report such things, but I have no time to report bugs and follow the progress of each of my bug reports. Just thought you guys should know about these things |
