Congratulations to everyone behind this great release

Yay! I'm so excited about KDE 4.2! I'm about to jump ship and just install Jaunty, because Kubuntu 8.10 won't have it available 'til "soon"!

KDE 4.2 has been released. Users of our development Jaunty version can do a full upgrade to get the latest packages. Packages for 8.10 (Intrepid) will appear soon in the kubuntu-experimental PPA.

To all those who are fortunate enough to have upgraded already, (all you SUSErs!) try removing (or renaming) your ~/.kde4 folder. Note that this will lose all your settings and stuff in KDE4 apps. However, it seems to save a lot of trouble when upgrading.

Hey this is interesting. KDE 4.2 was available from the openSUSE Build Service since this morning! I was already running 4.2 before the official release (and before I was aware of it)! Those guys don't waste time.

Take the install-instruction from kubuntu's RC announcement. Note that usage on productive environments is not recommended.

I have been using KDE 4.1 since a while back and today decided to upgrade to Slackwares new packages for the RC. This is just fantastic!

Great work and hugs to everyone involved in making it such a success!
