I'm using KDE4 since about the 4.0 Release and I really like it a lot. I think that it finally will help Linux to get a bigger market share on the desktop area.

Thanks to everyone who's helped to develop this geat piece of software!

Congrats on the best, prettiest and shiniest release to date! And, most importantly, big, BIG thanks to everyone who made it possible and contributed in any way they could!

Wishing you lots of energy and creative powers in 2009, on the path to abosolute World Domination!;-)

Thank you... 4.2 is a huge step forward from 4.1. The best part for me is it feels a lot faster then 4.1 and finally close with speed to what 3.5 was.

What is still missing and the most annoying thing for me is some sort of integration for file dialogs in non KDE apps. Right now Qt4 only apps use the Qt4 dialog ... should use KDE file dialog. Apps like Smplayer, VLC Player, Avidemux ... GTK+ apps use their ugly file dialog ... I'm so envious of the fact that Qt4 apps can imitate GNOME file dialog when running in that environment ... too bad GTK cannot :(

The 3d effects... Well I have to turn them down as flickering is killing me... I blame MESA for that though not KDE, as I get the same thing with Compiz or in fact any 3d app.

Thank you, all who have worked on creating KDE4 in general and KDE4.2 specifically. I've been running KDE4 since 4.1, but the 4.2 release brings an amazing amount of improvements. The pace of development is amazing - keep it up! :)

I finished with final tuches and my KDE looks sweet!
And it's really fast too. I feel that it's even faster than LXDE...

Here's a screenshot of my desktop:

I use my personal plasma theme Bare Naked (a bit of self-promotion) and it looks so
great with KDE4.2 (and I repaired all the glitches from it, so it's usable... try it ;-) )
