Yeah, it sounds good, but i think that KDE, expecially with his recent and constant polishment, must have a chance also with older PCs: the facts are that KDE experience without compositing is not the same when compositing is enabled. I think that would be pretty to see some improvement when compositing is disabled as: -metacity-like window resizing effect, showing just a coloured rectangle with the new dimension of the window. As alternative a win98-like window resizing effect, showing just the border of the window. -kde3/win98-like window minimization effect: it's quite sad minimize a window with compositing disabled and can't see where it goes. Those features in my opinion would be able to improve the using experience with bad driver/graphic card, reducing the weight of the resizing on CPU. that's all. Sorry for my bad english, hope you enjoy those simple ideas. |
