I have a tablet that I'd really like to install Debian on and one of the biggest problems I have with doing this is that not only is KDE probably the only desktop manager I'll use but it seems to lack an on-screen keyboard at log in. The last thing I want to do is go hunting for a USB keyboard every time I want to log into my tablet! Please make my tablet + KDE dream a reality. If this already exists somewhere then please point me in the right direction. I've searched for it but so far have not had much luck in finding anything.

Won't if work if you allow the plasmoids on the screensaver (sysconfig -> screensaver (or wherever it is) -> allow widgets on screensaver) and put the very onscreen keyboard as one of the allowed widgets ?

That will work for the screen saver but not the initial login screen.

Are you thinking of the Plasma Desktop or Plasma One/Two which is designed for tablets?

I'm thinking of the standard plasma desktop. I don't want to use plasma one, I'd rather use the stock KDE interface because I can load it on any linux more or less and because it's so customizable making it touch friendly would be trivial for me to accomplish. If only it had a keyboard at login...
