I think the interface can be even more intuitive and also practice
http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/2287 ... estaas.jpg Since the arrival of firefox the use of tabs at some point became popular, internet explorer, crome, opera, etc. I use Linux when I try Ubuntu 8.04 in live mode and it was only after some time I realized that you could go back by clicking on the address bar, when you realize this is very useful but unfortunately migrating from WinXXX this is not something you notice immediately so Why not make it visually obvious? The conceptual picture is added so the programmers/designers can find the aesthetic that they can handle by inserting the tabs.

To the first picture:
1. Are the «tabs» thought to stay visible even after I go one level up? If yes, how will the current tab be highlighted? If no, doesn't it break the usual tabs behaviour (I can click any tab and then return to the previous at any moment)? 2. How will standard Dolphin tabs look near to these new tabs? To the second picture: 1. Now the arrows look like «>» characters if they were copyable and pastable. But I suppose they won't be. Maybe it would be better just to add paddings around every «/» symbol inside the standard location text field? 2. Why doesn't the location bar have the full width? |

For me clicking on every element and checking what happens is the first thing I do after opening any program for the first time. While I saw location bar in Dolphin it was obvious to me what it is for.
Re: pictures It looks similar to this: http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/ ... 4ftj3k.png http://th3r0b.deviantart.com/art/frutex9000-268436720 http://th3r0b.deviantart.com/art/metal- ... 26134&qo=4 I think it is a matter of an appropriate theme or a theme engine. |
