When saving a file to a directory, the user is prompted to name the file. If a name is chosen that already exists, the user must wait until after he submits the form to find this out.
It would be helpful, if when typing the name to save a file as, files with the same beginning string came up "autocompleted" to show the similarity. For example, if a user already have files named file01, file02, and file03 in a folder, saving a file by typing the first few letters, say "file0", would extend the field to show that there exists file01, file02, and file03. This would lead the user to be able to save the file as "file04", without having to try every iteration of the file name (or search through the folder) until he found one that did not already exist. |
