Hi!
I do agree with Linus Torvalds in his ranting of Gnome 3. As a result of that I am now a KDE user. I find KDE quite "free" to customise as I want it. BUT I think its horribly messy to get it where I want. So my brainstorming idea is : Make a short preset list on a GUI setup. Like 1. All 3d effects on 2. All effects off. 3. A developer GUI (Like Linus Torvalds would like) 4. A GUI without all annoying help Ballons. 5. A former windows user GUI. (To help them easier to manage the GUI). 6. A grandma GUI. (Just joking). I would prefer nr 3 plus 4 and a hint of nr 2. |

That's like the setup wizard that KDE3 had, there were a small selection of presets that you could choose from

Then it should be easy to get back again. Brilliant. I hope many of you support this. Not all of us KDE users are using KDE for the "bling". But KDE is really blazing brilliant and fast when stripped down a little. KDE is so customizable that it can fit anyone. In my opinion its better to find "new" tools or whatever by searching. Than desperately trying to get rid of unnecessary plasmoidblingydodads. |
