Live video previews are very common on consoles, TV's, smart-phones etc.
I was hoping someone will implement this feature on desktops but it seems noone cares. Sure its not top rated priority, not even close but feature itself is aesthetically appealing. |

If you are referring just to thumbnail previews it is already available http://thelinuxexperiment.com/guinea-pi ... in-dolphin
If you're talking video previews it exists for .avi and .mpg but not .m4v nor .mp4 in the Dolphin info panel, at least in my setup. Though they don't automatically, must click play button. In 4.10 Klook will be incorporated into Dolphin (iirc) and this should provide video previews if supported by phonon http://www.koryavov.net/2012/03/klook-n ... -rosa.html |

No, what i mean is some playback rather than static pictures. Nowadays this feature is absent only on PC.
VideoThumbnailer PC -> static picture LivveVideoThumbnailer non-PC -> video playback for some time I am not against first version, so no replacing needed just addition. And make some preferences: - Playback time [0..59 seconds|minutes] - Playback mode [realtime, faster x[0..10], skip each [0..59 second|minutes], random skipping] - Show playback only for selected items [yes|no] Its funny that right now i can't find on youtube any video of something like that. Ok, found an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3uZDpNLeaQ Animated video thumbnails. |
