I don't own a macbook but I love what you can do just with your fingers on those large touchpads. Luckily, comfortable touchpads are no longer Apple exclusive so now we just need the functionality. For example, it would be really cool if I could use horizontal triple-finger swipe to switch desktops and vertical swipe to minimize window/activate "expose"/show desktop etc. I've found an addon for Ubuntu which makes this possible but I would like to see that directly in KDE.
Important thing is the way the swiping works. In OSX, it's not just a gesture - basically when you start moving your fingers across the touchpad, the objects on the screen are precisely following your movement. If you own a smartphone (iPhone/Android), you know what I'm talking about and you know that this feature makes the swiping feel very natural. Without it, it would be half the fun. Well...are there any plans to implement that in KDE? |

Yes, I would also like to see this, as I plan to get my new notebook with multi-touch support.
I did a quick check at the bug tracker, but I found only bugs regarding mult-touch )-: Bug 294982 - Dolphin does not work with multitouch-enabled touchpads Bug 223049 - Mac OS X - Crash when using MacBook's multi-touch touchpad |
