Hi all
I really love KDE software because of its user-friendliness, and ease of use since almost everything can be tweaked inside systemsettings. Here is the trouble: with so many different applications (Plasma, Kate, Konqueror,...), it is difficult to remember where each one can be configured.
Why not put all those plasma configuration menus in systemsettings? I also use KDE with a pretty dark theme (tweaked "Optimal colors") and the editor's colors (such as Kate & Kile) are unreadable. Therefore, I had to change colors in both of them (strange that they do not share at least LaTeX syntax coloration...). It would have been easier to have only one place to have everything correctly set up: in systemsettings. I believe there should be in systemsettings the same available options as in the app we are configuring right now:
And there should be an access to this configuration as well in the very app (.. > configuration > configure $APP) So the idea is quite like:

I think your idea is pretty cool! It's a mess when you have a new setup of KDE Desktop and want to change settings of your apps: you have to open them one by one. But with some months using Android, I started to think it also would be wonderful to have an option (in systemsettings, too) to backup the configuration of your apps and desktop settings: all or (also) one by one. That would make easier migrating configurations to other devices.

Something like how drupal manage modules setting, when a module is enabled it is configurable under Administer > Site Configuration. When a kde app is installed it will appear in the systemsettings.. |

Yes, I agree with this idea! To reduce complexity is needed intensely in Linux. KDE has it already, but still need more
If any Universal Modem Installer in KDE, it would be nice. Notice that so many different tutorials available in the net and until now there is no an app for autoconfigure many USB modem. Maybe KDE will starts it in Linux world It would be very nice if included in Application Settings! |
