Hi,
in Ark when I open an archive with two files and a folder (for example), I can't move a file into the folder.
Also, I can't add a folder by drag'n'dropping because it gives the error that is a folder (although there is a button named "Add a folder" in the toolbar -.-)

You probably want to file a bug against Ark.
However, please notice that "naive" archieve manipulation is usually not what you want since it will for most compression formats require a complete recompression (what can be a pain if the archieve becomes big)

So what you might request is a "smart" system which queues various actions and performs them at once (ie. by one recompression)

Well, in fact I want Ark to behave more like file-roller from GNOME (that supports moving files around) :o
I suspect that in fact it uncompresses and recompresses the archive, which may be a problem for big ones, but it seems to work well...

For the second part, I'll try the new KDE 4.10.1 just released, hoping that bug is fixed.
If not, I'll file a bug. ;)

There has always been something wrong in Unix utils to handle ZIP and RAR archives (not to come that RAR is proprietary) as it just does not work by user actions as expected when comparing to Winzip use where renaming and managing files does not require whole archive re-compression.

Thats why it is pain in a back when it comes to even manage tar archives compressed with gzip or bz2 that you can not even quickly open a compressed archive if size is over 1MB.
