Hello,
General: As the title implies, i would like to propose a new way to control the notifications. More specifically the (sometimes) annoying popups . Of course one could easily manage the notifications by the config menu and disable them or modify the settings. That would require the same amount of "work" to enable them. In my scenario, i want the notifications enable in their full glory but, for example when i writing code in qt creator or some text in texmaker the popups occupy a significant amount of the screen and possible cover the menus of the programs behind. In a nutshell: [idea=]I would like a fast way to mute the notifications - thus no popups only the fancy "blue effect and the counter increases" routine so i know that something has happened. I would like to toggle mute/unmute the notifications with the middle mouse click over the "notifications and jobs" tray icon.[/idea] What do you think? |

run "kcmshell4 notify" (it's a systemsettings module)

thanks for the reply, but i am aware of the configuration settings. that's exactly what i mean. i DONT want to mess with the settings and modify them all the time. just an option on the plasma-thingie-notifications to temporary (un)/mute them (pretty simple i think, i`ll give it a shot to implement this ) |

So I've been itching and kinda complaining about this feature myself.
It'd be a toggle in the Notifications applet/systray icon that allows it to "swallow up" notifications for a period of time. This is handy if I'm doing a live stream or working with a shared screen session and didn't want my notifications to appear on the screen. I think this is something that can be added to https://cgit.kde.org/knotifications.git/about however. Potential Resutls: * Option to set timer to mute notifications from KCM * Keybinding to toggle Muted Notifications * Still show notifications in listing in applet |

FWIW, there's an open bug for this! https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395949
