Hello.

I use my laptop on a docking station very often. Here I have 2 monitors.

So normally I have my windows on the 2 screens while working with the docking.
So once in a while I unplug my laptop. But I forgot to move all windows to screen zero (the laptop screen) from the TFT, screen one.
But now I can't see those windows, as they are still in the screen one.
So I have to "fish in the dark" to move it over to my laptop screen (closing is not an option)!

So wouldn't it be nice to a simple button in the krandr applet, or somewhere else that lets you move all windows to one screen EVEN AFTER THE SECOND SCREEN IS REMOVED?

That would such dummies as me really keep from much hassle xD

Greetings

KWin constrains all windows to remaining screens.
If this does not happen (and you're not using a tremendously outdated version), it's more likely that the screen is actually not removed (check the output of "xrandr -q")

I absolutely agree with luebking here: aparently there is something really screwed with your system.
When I unplug my external screen all windows are moved to the remaining screen, as epected. In fact my problem is more the other way 'round: when pluggin in the second screen then all windows are moved to that screen (why?) which is pretty annoying.

Probably because the windows are not moved (as long as there's no need to), but the display below them is.

hi.

yes with 4.10.3 update this feature works for me now, too.
So maybe the admin will close this?

greetings.
