Hello!

I think it would be a great feature, if it was possible to pack the windows of different programs into the same window. This would be similar to Calligra or GIMP, in which you can either attach the dialogues to the main program frame or set them free as (mostly) independent windows.
Now I do know about the "Attach as tab"-function, but I'd find it much better if the programs could be displayed side by side.
This could be useful, i.e., in order to have the lists of contacts or the chat windows from different instant messengers all at the same place (like Skype and those that can be used whithin KDE IM). The tabbing function, in this example, rather slows down the workflow.
And I'm sure there are much more cases, that could be thought of, in which this new function would be useful (and not just fancy). If you want me to take the time for that, I'd do it.

Best regards!
David

How about the I implementation of this that I described here?:

I don't think a container is necessary, as it is more flexible to be able to still have individual windows, except windows which can be moved together, will appear together, and can be resized proportionally to each other. Perhaps the window glow effect could even be a different colour to indicate a attached set of windows.
