I'm using multiple monitors. In the special window/application settings for a given window/application, we can currently choose which screen the window/application should appear on, which is handy.
However, rather than only selecting which specific screen an app should appear on ("1", "2", "3", etc), it'd be great to be able to specify "not on the currently-focused screen". I constantly find myself moving new windows out of the way: if I'm working on something on one screen and I want to pull up a terminal to investigate some other aspect of it, I usually don't want that terminal window to obscure what I'm currently looking at. I most often want the new window I'm opening to open somewhere else, so I open it, and then I have to drag it to another window. You could also have a "open on least-used screen", "open on most-used screen", "open on random screen", etc. More generally, it'd be nice to have a option to set the default for any new window with an unspecified screen destination to open on the "least used" screen: the screen with the least number of windows currently on it, or the one that has seen the least recent user activity, etc. Thanks! |
