Replay Gain

Tue Dec 24, 2013 1:38 am
Hi! I have finally decided to really try out Amarok.
Using version 2.8.0 in Linux Mint 16 KDE. In the past I have not stayed long with Amarok, anyway the past is the past.

I find this version to be quite polished, the analyzer is quite a welcome addition.

I have a rather short wish list:
For some songs in my library the volume is somewhat loud (a brief volume spike) before replay gain is applied. I must add all my song are .ogg.
I use Soundkonverter for the conversion and select replay gain. To see if Soundkonverter missed some songs, I have used QtGain to analyze the files. And QtGain
does not find any file to correct.

A rather long pre-amble to say it would be nice if that initial sound spike could be eliminated. I have encountered this situation with the majority
of audio players, except one and that is Audacious. Please understand this is not a this one is better, simply an observation.

I have tried both Album and track replay gain with the same results.

Happy Holidays & Good cheers.
