i think KDE must be ALSO a TABLET Desktop and Windows Manager
I also think that any FINGER FRIENDLY menu is also easier to use with a mouse
I would like to see some day a FINGER FRIENDLY pre installed KDE at devices as the 20" HP all in one

The idea is to BE ABLE TO replace the actual horizontal text menu by a vertical icon - ideograms - menu
With nested sub menus configurable to be in columns or in matrix arrays of 3x3 or even 4x4.
As any vertical dock bar but instead for launching applications, for launching the menu

Imagine KATE that has about 105 menu items with 105 icons - IDEOGRAMS - most of them that can be used by other applications, and some that would have to be created as a new old Egyptian alike language, with a menu column with 8 ideograms with a 4x4 matrix with one square for EXIT/QUIT THIS MENU and 15 for actions that will make the use of kate easy for a monkey or a child that do not write yet.

I have two nephews at that age, I let them use my computer nickjr web page and Supertuxkart are the things they use better, and that is because they are very graphical, no need to know how to read - they play SuoertuxKart they do not pass the circuits except for the egg search -. I also watch them play with my Android tablet, and games as pet rescue or Plants vs zombies 1 - PC - and 2 - tablet - are easy and funny for them.

As you know plants vs zombies is not a kid game, BUT as they have the ICON MENU to play is a TD game kids can play - not pass, of course - and I had this FINGER FRIENDLY VERTICAL IDEOGRAM MENU idea long time ago this alike implementations and being able to play with my young nephews only confirm my idea. If any of you have around pre reader kids you will be able to test what I am writing, and if you want the best product ALSO for the masses, as less learning curve it has the better,and I think a FINGER FRIENDLY IDEOGRAM MENU is the lower learning curve one as actual desktop managers docks and phone interfaces has, but still not application's menus

Unfortunately I do not know how to make mock ups, but i do know it can be done, as easy as let the users to put in vertical the menu, change the text by icons, let decide the size, where it will be every menu item, and sub menu, if floating text will appear or text will be inside the icon matrix - icon+ text - and with this CONFIGURATION OPTIONS, let SAVE and IMPORT icons - ideograms - and vertical menus configurations, with nested sub menus in columns and matrix or mixed, and with some time, watch what is more popular, and decide what to offer as default for a KDE FINGER FRIENDLY configuration default package hopefully pre installed at some TABLET, all in one, or pre readers children schools.
