Gather statistics, like total time using of application, total time working on document(time of document is open) relateed to activity. You could also gather time activity is open.

Can you give a use case? And who would the stats serve – just the user or send it to KDE developers?

Similar project have a GNOME. It's called Zeitgeist. This statistiic could be read by user, using special application or plasmoid.

I thought there is some Zeitgeist integration already in KDE as well… I still don’t quite understand what this should achieve exactly – please explain.

This is already implemented. Though, we mostly focus on documents, and not that much on applications (we do store those as well, naturally).
This just needs more exposure (already planned). As for the potential use-cases: - Most important documents, per application, per activity, or globally - Most frequently used (high usage score) applications across the entire system. - Grouping things together by analysing the statistics - Recently used / most frequently used contacts (kmail, telepathy) ... |
