Sometimes you open the file dialog and find out that you need to rename, move, copy, open with a different app or delete a file listed in there. It's very impactical to go to dolphin and make these changes.

Solution: Lets make file dialog file list a dolphin list, with all it's features to manage the files and preview, tagging, etc

Better idea is to add open file browser in current location button.

In general I agree that a file dialog should offer more than just it's core feature. Renaming files on the fly is a perfect example for that.

However offering an overwhelming collection of features and options everywhere has not proven to be a good idea. It confuses, makes things bloated in the end often slows down system and user.

So I think a compromise does make sense here: some core options being available in the file dialog, maybe even configurable, but not all. I too like the idea of offering an easy means to open a file manager at the given location as a mighty alternative.
Actually the compromise already exists. The "properties" dialog reachable from the file dialog allows to rename files. Inline renaming (F2) is implemented, but currently deactivated. Existing issues should get resolved, indeed, this should get enabled again. File deletion might be another thing that makes sense.
