Hi,
KAddress Book is nearly the best contacts app in the market and my first reason to switch to kde. It's already far ahead of Microsoft Outlook Contacts but I think following improvements will make it greatest for business and daily users. 1-) Multiple Websites per Contact: One contact can have multiple phone numbers, emails, im accounts but just "one" website. This is a really big limitation in the real world. Today, a company or person has many internet website accounts those supplying direct url addresses. (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram etc.) Please you may adapt multiple website entry form with required database structure. (P.s. I tried "custom fields" to accomplish that feature but didn't worked. Url addresses are not recognized as clickable links.) 2-) GPS Positions for Every Addresses not only for selected one: GPS position belongs only "one" address. Rest of the addresses won't have GPS positions. Imagine that one company has many shops in the district but we have only GPS position of headquarters ![]() Please relate that gps position to directly with addresses entity. Thus every addresses will have its own GPS position. Route planning and mapping will be much easier and productive. At this point I need to mention about "address search" feature by "open street map". This can work for some known (logged, recognized) urban areas but what about rural places and motorways? Here in my country motorway addresses are something like this: Ankara to Kayseri Motorway 75th Km. Open street map never resolves this place. Better is to let users enter gps positions by hand in many cases for rural areas. Solution: if GPS positions are entered into address data just show them on map. If there is no a pair of lat/lon entered next to address then just search by "open street map". ![]() 3-) Company or People Identifier Checkmark: Wouldn't it be better if we can identify a contact is a company or person as Apple Contacts does. This may cause many benefits for future developments and possible integrations. Company lists only etc. Thank you for great software and support for the community. |
