Desktop Grid is very useful, but I feel like it could be made more useful by allowing you to select / manipulate multiple windows, as opposed to single windows or entire desktops as currently designed.

At present, left click switches desktops (and raises windows) and exits the Grid, left drag moves individual windows or desktops, and middle and right click both pin a window to all desktops. I feel like a more versatile scheme, taking advantage of all three mouse buttons, would be to use left clicks to add / remove windows from the selection, and left drags to move the selected windows from one desktop to another. Right click would take over for selecting a desktop and exiting Desktop Grid.

Since there have been a lot of requests to reimplement the 'middle click to close' option in Present Windows, one possible application for this would be to add a 'Dustbin' at the top or bottom of the screen on Desktop Grid, allowing the user to drag the selected windows there to close them (with prompts to e.g. save files where needed). This would be easy for the user to do, but have the advantage of being self-explanatory, and hard to trigger by accident.

This is how I'm imagining it'd work, in detail (though obviously there are quite a few nuances to think of, so I'm not suggesting this should all be set in stone... Feel free to propose modifications below):

Left click (unselected window) - add to selection, raise
Left click (selected window) - remove from selection
Left click (desktop) - if any windows on desktop aren't in selection, add them. If all are in the selection, remove them.
Left click and drag (unselected window) - add window to selection, drag selected windows to a desktop, then empty selection
Left click and drag (selected window) - drag selected windows to a desktop, then empty selection
Left click and drag (desktop) - add all windows on desktop to selection, drag selected windows to a desktop, then empty selection

Middle click (window) - pin window to all desktops

Right click (desktop or window) - switch to desktop and exit Desktop Grid.
