OSX has a pretty neat app called "Shortcat" that basically lets you do a text search on any app on your screen. The basic functionality is <hotkey> opens a search bar, typing a search string highlights areas of your screen that match the search string, and each area is indicated by a keyboard character. Pressing the character will activate the link/button or take your cursor to the input box or whatever.
I don't know how feasible this is given the disparity between the many different systems required to run a typical KDE installation, howver it would be a stupendous standout feature that no other Linux window manager has provided. Ubuntu HUD can do some VERY basic version of this with some app's menus but it isn't even close to as functional. http://shortcatapp.com/ (This GIF on the site gives a pretty good indication of how the app functions on OSX) http://files.shortcatapp.com/shortcat-s ... etwork.gif |
