Install instructions on the Krita website for ubuntu/mint didn't work for me. The problem is that most users don't have
a version that already has kdelibs-bin installed, since many users have versions that don't use kde.
After considerable search online, I found this installation instruction, and it works:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install krita

sudo apt-get install kritasketch (otherwise you won't have the sketch brush in 2.8.0)

sudo apt-get install kdelibs-bin

I suggest you post this to some Ubuntu board or forum, since this is not a kde issue...
