protecting Kmail meta-data

Sun Jan 24, 2016 12:56 pm
Using Maildir offers better protection of email records. Databases & mbox are pron to catastrophic data corruption during a system or software update failure.
But Maildir can & should also protect tag & other meta-data by storing them as extended attributes with each of the emails.
If people want or need to use mbox, it is their choice but Kmail can & should a safer storage solution as its default.
