Krunner as a widget for a panel

Having an option to put krunner in a panel similar to Windows 10's search field would be nice

try the search widget, not all the functionality but minimally will launch and searc

I'm aware of it, but it would be nicer if it was actually Krunner, which is as you said more advanced and probably better maintained, and having a search field could add to it.

I could also imagine having a search field int the bottom left and when you click into it an application manager would open and you can immediately search by writing into the panel or browse through the apps

good idea, in KDE 4 I used the "run command" 3rd party widget and miss it in 5

There is a "search" widget, but it's less than convenient for me presonally.
