Smartphones have only one headphone jack (or even none ), so you can't connect good hifi-systems.
My idea is to use the connected computer as speaker (like bluetooth speakers). This feature would allow the user to connect e.g. a 7.1 audio system to his computer and use it to play music from his smartphone. There are no cables, the same as bluetooth speakers, but you would propably have a higher range. |

An alternative would be to just have the music playing from the computer and use the smartphone with KdeConnect as the remote control

Sounds like an interesting idea... This would be like those "cast" solutions streaming video and/or audio to various end points... I wonder if it is possible to integrate such thing though in a seamless way. Something only an android developer can answer...
Remote controlling an audio player running on the computer is an alternative, but only for specific tasks. The idea sketched here opens a much wider range of features. In the end the smartphone may have quite different sources of sound than the computer does... |

I'd love to have this feature!
There isn't a simple way to do that at the moment (that I'm aware of). Is it still being discussed? |
