Program notes

Tue Jan 10, 2017 1:20 pm
1. Comment`on property dialog of icons
2. Display window/program notes(editable by user), when user click alt+f1
That could be very usefull for example to write keyboard configuration on DOS game icon(mouse release keyboard combination). I have folderview widgeton games activity.

Hm... interesting...

An interesting idea...
Something like tags in multimedia files...

Unfortunately unlike with those files it is not possible to store the information inside the files itself. First because a "program" consists of many files, there is not necessarily a "main" file and second because those are often binary files that cannot simply be altered. An alternative would be to use file system based storage, so meta information, but that is limited in volume. Which leaves a separate, centralized storage engine, but why not? Something like KDEs windows specific rules. That feature might also solve the issue of identifying a "program" from KDE's point of view.

Another way of use is game journal - for example user can note ideas about cRpg game.
