I would really like a widget that does nothing. Sound weird? It's also known as a "separator". I want a little square or circle that I can put between other widgets in the panel. It would be very helpful to be able to change the color of the separator, but any color other than white or black (technically not colors) would be better than none at all. My preference would be a simple block the same height as other widgets but only about 1/3 of the width of the standard widget. And, again, it would be nice to be able to pick a high-contrast color off the palette.
Here (the green bar) is an example of what I am suggesting... Click to View I looked through all the widgets I could find but was unable to find a "separator". If it's there and I missed it I apologize in advance. Thank you.

That works !! Thank you !!
~4 years of working with this and I never saw it before. I even used the "add widgets" control - right next to the "add spacer" control - and didn't see it. The only property that would be nice to change is the color. Because this one is the same color as the taskbar background I have to make it much bigger than it should be just to be noticeable. But, it's waaaaaay better than not having one at all. Thanks, again. |
