Hi,
I dont understan very well, why dolphin only can keep size view for type's view hierarchy (icons, detailed, compact),
I think we shoud be able to keep size view, inheriting this from father directory or something like that, with a contextual fixing option or so,
In resume, there should be a way to be able to set differents zoom views for any directory if we need it.

For example, I'd like to fix icons view size to 64px for Home folder, and keep inherit 48px for the rest ones of icons view type.

So to make sure I understand what you are requesting:
Currently there are settings in Configure Dolphin -> General -> Behavior for switching between Remember properties for each folder and Use common properties for all folders.
You would like something in between these two settings to remember properties by folder, but if not specified/overwritten for a given folder to use those of the parent? Then by changing the settings in the parent folder those settings would automatically be reflected in its sub folders, excepting those sub folders which have their own settings.

I think that in and of itself could be doable fairly easily. However, it would add a little cognitive overhead as the user has to keep track of at which parent folders they've set the properties up for and make sure that when changing the properties that they only do it in those parent folders. Granted someone who choses to use this setting would likely know what they are getting into and be ready to accommodate that.

Another use case would be to set up the Pictures folder with large previews, the Documents folder with medium-size previews, the Downloads folder as a Details view, coding/project folders as a Details view with scm columns, etc. Creating new sub folders in any of these would still use the same view settings as their parents until explicitly changed.
