Seems no one has ever asked for that before. So basically I like when my computer doesn't look too messy. I appreciate the functionality the .kra~ files might provide once needed, but in fact I don't like how they mix with the actual working files, which is less aesthetic and more importantly - extends time needed to browse through in case you've got many files left in a folder for example.
I'd be really glad to see this section in settings being updated with additional checkbox, to save in same place as the .kra working file is saved (default) and a text field for path to the directory, where the .kra~ backup files should be saved instead. This way we gain the possibility to separate the backups and working files in case we want it. It also gives us another possible benefit for our workflows. Once we do not need these files, we can enter the directory, simply select all files inside and delete them as they are not needed anymore (or maybe even include such option in settings, too?) to save the hard drive space. No need to select the files first. I think it is always some time saved, especially for someone, who does create a lot of artwork. Thank you for passing by! |

Was looking for this feature.
But I'm guessing that the way it works now is that Krita just alternates to which file it writes and then swaps the ".kra"/".kra~" extensions. So saving would take a performance hit if you where allowed to locate backup files on a different drive. Am I correct? |
