Currently, after notification was displayed, user can configure this kind of notification and decided that in future, there should be script invoked. My idea is little different. I think, that user should configure notification selecting notification about an progress, like "When file will been downloaded/copied, run command". I realize something similar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYa_hZtxmAQ . It depends on libgreatao, first generalized integration library, created by my own. You should reimplement monitor program in Qt5.
The idea is like that: some program, similar to sleep, but reporting time flow, is used to report computer will be shutdown after 9 minutes and will be shutdown after 10 since program was start. This program only create task "time counting to 10 minutes" and user set event fired, when task is done in 90% to show message and create event fired, when task is done. Another example is p2p client. Program will create task download for each downloading file. User can create for task "downloading elephants dream.avi" an event, which will be fired once file is downloaded. Action will be play sound and start movie. All in easy to use manner - user would be able to delete events, monitor it and create it. Maybe p2p clients implements something similar, but in my opinion, better if there's be single UI to achieve some kind of goal. I think text shells, like Bash, should been integrated too, but in future. Order like run command, when task is done on 50% or some files was copied or if state of task was changed from/to is more powerfull than simple if task end with error and end with success. Sorry for my English. You can look at source of my solution at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gtaskm/ . It uses libgreattao and Dbus. Libgreattao can be installed by installer.
