I have been a KDE user after many years jumping between distros. I landed on KDE due to the many options for customization, speed and stability. I find most aspects of KDE far better than it's competitors, except for one thing, and that is the task switcher. I know that there are many options for selecting how the task switcher looks, but they share some common flaws in my opinion.
1. On multimonitor setups, when I press alt+tab the task switcher is displayed on the active screen only. If you eg. select the wrong window or you just want to get a specific window to front on the second monitor, then the next time you press alt+tab the task switcher will be displayed on that monitor. I would really like the ability to display the task switcher on all monitors simultaneously. 2. Ability to select windows in the task switcher with arrow keys. 3. Ability to group similar windows and loop through them like in Unity 7. When having 10+ windows open and traversing with eg. Thumbnail grid (while great for few windows) is not that useful when many windows. I think unity 7 really nailed the task switcher. 4. Speed - the task switcher should be lightning fast. If this means ditching the window previews, that's ok. I know about the settings reducing the delay, but it's still a little slow. Thanks for your work, it's greatly appreciated! |

This is my first contribution even though I use KDE since it's first version.
I saw this guy growing and changing all the DE's from anywhere in the globe. Recently Firefox made a change that I liked a lot, you could implement this with easy, since there is already a speaker icon displayed at the bar when app is playing sound, just make it clickable so people can easily mute that app (just like firefox do within the tabs). That's it, very simple, but very functional as KDE is. Sorry, made it at the right place. |

Big double dittos. On multi-monitor setup, the task switcher is lacking. No arrow keys, and having to always look over at my third monitor is a pain.

Completely agree with 4: I have to disable animations system-wide to percieve it a little bit faster. The text or icon only variants coming are "slow" too, but I start to think the preview is intentionally delayed in the code. Still, I think it's a (quite frustrating) issue.
---- EDIT ----- Ok, i confirm that the alt-tab delay is indeed intentional, because it is supposed that when you alt-tab super fast you know where you are going. Anyway, this is the "fix":
