In my opinion, it's necessary to write session daemon, who watch for free ram and alert if there's small amount of memory. It should show message displaying how many memory are free and which process using most operating memory. It shouldn't allocate memory dynamically as possible. It could be great if it can display process list with memory each of it using and allow to kill current session's process.
It could be very useful for developers, because system can be not reliable, when no free memory and Linux will kill random process in case of no free memory.
