Can anyone help

Hello.

When I click on the Firefox browser icon in the lower panel, the icons Home and Wastebin, and the lower panel icons all disappear leaving a completely black screen. After a few minutes the desktop recovers.

Can anyone suggest a possible solution to this problem?

Further details that might help in a diagnosis.

Clicking on the Home and Wastebin icons do not create a problem.

Clicking on the Application Launcher does not cause a problem.

Clicking on the Dolphin or browser icons in the lower panel leads to the black screen - recovers back to the desktop

Ps. Using Plasma and KDE desktop
