When choosing "transparent" as the color the text on a dark background is basically invisible. Suggestion is have two transparent types, transparent w/dark text and transparent w/light text. As a workaround I edited the notes file for this (which appears to be a simple html file) and put in the changes myself and it works fine. The only issue being the caret remains dark which makes editing unnecessarily more difficult.

Also add changing the color of text. I can confirm this currently works fine when colors are added manually. For now I have a ".." of red/green/blue and I select it, copy/paste and start typing in the middle.
